What You’ll Do

Back-End Development with Ruby:
Lead the design and development of backend systems using Ruby and Ruby on Rails, driving performance and scalability for high-traffic media platforms.

Front-End Integration:
Work across the stack by building and integrating UI components using React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks—bringing polished experiences to end users.

Automated Testing:
Ensure code quality and reliability through robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as RSpec, Capybara, or Jest.

Cloud-Native Solutions:
Deploy and maintain services in AWS, leveraging tools like EC2, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFront to deliver content quickly and reliably.

CI/CD and DevOps:
Implement continuous integration and deployment workflows using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring fast, safe delivery.

Team Collaboration:
Partner with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers in an agile environment to shape and deliver new features.

Media-Specific Challenges:
Build and optimize systems for streaming, media asset management, personalized content delivery, and analytics.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional software development, with a strong foundation in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
  • Solid experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, or similar).
  • Experience building and testing RESTful APIs and fullstack applications.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud infrastructure for scalable deployments.
  • Deep understanding of automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows, agile methodologies, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in collaborative, distributed teams.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in media, publishing, or content delivery platforms.
  • Familiarity with asset processing, CDN integration, or video streaming technologies.
  • Exposure to GraphQL, Webpack, or serverless architecture patterns.
